Cambrian, CA encompasses an area of family-friendly neighborhoods in West San Jose with great public schools and a wide variety of parks. The community offers a suburban feel without feeling cramped. Cambrian is home to a wide range of shops and restaurants, so residents rarely need to venture out of the area to fulfill their everyday needs.
Jack Holder’s Restaurant & Bar is a laidback and family-friendly tavern serving elevated all-day diner fare. The wide-ranging menu includes classic and specialty breakfast plates, aged angus burgers, signature sandwiches, gourmet fries, steaks, pasta, flatbread pizza, farm-fresh salads, sunrise cocktails, and old-fashioned milkshakes.
International Food Bazaar has been attracting shoppers from all over the valley with its wonderful variety of international food items since the 1970s. This exceptional global grocery store stocks fresh organic herbs and produce, grain-fed halal beef and antibiotic-free, free-range chicken from local Californian farms, mouthwatering kabobs, and other specialty food items.
Tu Mero Mole is a popular local spot for great authentic Mexican food. Tu Mero Mole’s classic regional dishes, including enchiladas, fajitas, and fresh scratch-made corn tortillas, are all bursting with flavor.
Things to Do
Cambrian’s neighborly vibe comes to the forefront on the Fourth of July when the community comes together for numerous neighborhood street parades. The festivities typically include tasty BBQ eats, beer and wine vendors, fun games for kids and adults, and fireworks displays.
Cambrian residents also enjoy access to numerous neighborhood parks and green spaces. Hogue Park covers an area of 12.5 acres and offers amenities like basketball and tennis courts, a horseshoe pit, an exercise course, and separate playgrounds for children aged two to five and five to 12.
Butcher Park has a sprawling off-leash dog area with separate sections for larger and smaller pups. Like Hogue Park, Butcher Park also has playgrounds for younger and older kids. Other facilities include a field for softball and soccer, courts for basketball and volleyball, and a children’s water play feature.
Every Wednesday between May and September, Cambrian Park Urban Village Farmers’ Market features vendors selling seasonal local produce, fresh fish, flowers, herbs and spices, cheese, and delicious, ready-to-eat foodstuffs, including BBQ and crepes. The farmers market kicks off each Wednesday at 4 p.m. and closes at 8 p.m.
